Dear Mr. and Mrs. Phillips:

Thank you so much for the incredibly generous gift you made that has enabled me to receive this scholarship! I have been informed of a donor/student dinner taking place during the school year and I sincerely hope you can make it. I would love the opportunity to thank you in person.

Paying for school has been one of the greatest anxieties of my life, and yet, God has always proved faithful to provide. With the scholarship you have made possible, I intend on graduating with an English degree and possibly go on to graduate school, with the result of being a teacher and writer.
