Beatrice M. Delson Nursing Scholarship

The Beatrice M. Delson Scholarship was established to honor Beatrice Delson on her 90th birthday by her family. Bea was a registered nurse, who retired from nursing in 1981. She got into nursing during WWII and pent the bulk of her professional career at Murphy Ranch Hospital in Whittier and at Whittier Hospital. She was an OB nurse. Her love of nursing is the basis for this scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate Nursing students in the Nursing program at Biola University. Recipients are selected by the Nursing Department based on the following criteria:

  1. Demonstrated Financial Need (by filing a FAFSA.)
  2. Minimum GPA of 3.2
  3. US citizen
  4. Fluent in English
  5. Preference to residents of California, specifically La Mirada or Whittier
  6. Preference to students with a special interest in the study and practice of labor and delivery
